Sample Itinerary 1: Riding lesson/Trek mix

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation & settle in. In the afternoon you can walk/drive to the riding centre where you will be introduced to your horse. You will then have a riding lesson/assessment lesson in the arena.

 Day 2 – Take a walk/shuttle to the riding centre in the morning for a 1 hour riding lesson. Return to your accommodation. Later on in the day you will go on a 1 hour trek to discover the local area.

Day 3 – Take a walk/shuttle to the riding centre in the morning for a 2 hour trek to a mountain view point with stunning 360 degree views. Have a home cooked three course lunch at your accommodation. Later In the afternoon you will return for a 1 hour riding lesson in the arena.

Day 4 – You will go on a more challenging half day trek (4 hours) in the mountains.

Day 5 – Your guide will take you on a 2.5 hour tapas trail. We will ride along the river stopping en route for drinks & tapas.

Day 6 – Walk to the riding centre in the morning for a 1 hour lesson in the arena. Afterwards return to your accommodation for lunch or have some tapas in the town. Later in the afternoon you will return for another riding lesson in the arena.

Day 7 – Enjoy a full day riding in the mountains with a picnic lunch on a day trek. (6 hours – Various routes available for all abilities)

Day 8 – In the morning leave your accommodation to travel back to the airport (transfers available).

Sample Itinerary 2: Novice Trekker

Day 1- Arrive at your accommodation. In the afternoon take a walk or shuttle to the riding centre for a 1 hour riding lesson. We will cover the basics and prepare you for trekking. Half of the lesson will take place in the arena and the other half in a quiet park next to the riding centre.

Day 2 – After breakfast (optional) walk to the riding centre for a 1 hour trek out to explore the local area.

 Day 3 – Take a pleasant morning stroll to the riding centre where your trek guide will be waiting for you to take you on a 2 hour trek.  

Day 4 – Enjoy a 3.5 hour tapas trail where we will ride from the centre following a trail up to a mountain view point and along the river before stopping at a traditional Spanish bar for tapas & drinks.

Day 5 – Today you will take a more challenging 4 hour half day trek in to the mountains to a secluded reservoir

Day 6 – Spend a relaxing morning at your accommodation. In the afternoon walk to the riding centre for a relaxing 2 hour trek along the river and through the valley.

Day 7 – Enjoy a full day of trekking in the mountains with a picnic lunch (6 hours)

Day 8 – Leave your accommodation to travel back to the airport (transfers available on request)

Sample Itinerary 3: Mountain Explorer

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation. In the afternoon, take a walk/shuttle to the riding centre. You will be introduced to your horse before riding out on a 1 hour trek.

Day 2 – Walk to the riding centre for a 2 hour morning trek along an ancient olive route and the Gualdalfeo river.

 Day 3 – Your guide will take you on a more challenging 4 hour/half day trek in the mountains to a secluded mountain lake.

Day 4 – Enjoy a 4 hour half day trek along the river passing through traditional Alpujarran agricultural villages.

Day 5 – Today you will go on a full day trek in the mountains with a stop for a picnic lunch (6 hours). We have different routes available to suit all abilities.

Day 7 – Enjoy a 3 hour trek up to a mountain view point with stunning mountain views.

Day 8 – Leave your accommodation to travel to the airport (transfers available)

Sample itinerary 4 – All Round Rider

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation. In the afternoon we will introduce you to your horse and you will take a riding assessment lesson or riding lesson. Afterwards we will make a plan and talk more about your riding goals. and how we can help get you closer to achieving them during your stay.

 Day 2 – Arrive in the morning for your riding lesson. Return later in the afternoon for a 1 hour trek where we will introduce you to the local area.

Day 3 – Morning riding lesson in the arena. In the afternoon you will go on a 3 hour trek along the river passing through a traditional Alpujarran farming village.

Day 4 – Spend a relaxing morning at your accommodation. In the afternoon you will go on a 3.5 hour tapas trail in the mountains with a stop off en route at a Spanish bar/restaurant for a glass of wine & tapas.

Day 5- In the morning arrive to the centre for a 1 hour riding lesson in the arena. In the afternoon return for another riding lesson.

Day 6 – Walk/shuttle to the riding centre for a half day/4 hour trek to a secluded mountain lake. Afterwards return to your accommodation for lunch. Take a 1 hour riding lesson in the arena in the afternoon.

 Day 7 – In the morning take a riding lesson in the arena. After a long lunch you will take your second riding lesson.

Day 8 – In the morning you will take your final riding lesson. Your riding instructor will evaluate your progress and suggest a plan to continue your progression on your return home.

Sample itinerary 5 – Family (own a pony)

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation and settle in. Enjoy exploring the local town or relax after your journey in your room. Take a walk to the riding centre to meet our horses & ponies. We will show you around the riding centre & go over the weeks activity program. Children will be given a pony/horse to take care of as if it were their own for the week. You will spend a little time getting to know your ponies, do some grooming and we will go over some of the safety issues involved when handling horses/ponies. You will learn how to handle horses in a fun & relaxed atmosphere with games (2 hour session)

 Day 2 – Family riding session in the morning (3 hours). Learn how to care for your ponies.We will complete some daily jobs together around the stables. You will bring your ponies in from the paddock, feed them, learn about the grooming kit and do some grooming. There will be a pony care class. You will finish the session with some riding in the arena with games.

Day 3 – Walk or take a shuttle to the riding centre for a 3 hour session to include Feeding preparing and tacking up your ponies. Today you will learn about how to tack up your horses. There will be a pony care class. We will do some stable jobs together and you will have a family riding session in the arena. Parents are encouraged to get involved and support their children.

Day 4 – Enjoy a family walk to the riding centre. Your guide will meet you and after feeding, stable jobs, a pony care class and preparing your ponies you will all take a family riding session in the arena. Afterwards you will ride out on a mini trek out in the forest park next door to the riding centre (total session 3 hours).

 Day 5 – Enjoy a relaxing morning. In the afternoon arrive at the riding centre for a 2.5 hour tapas trail. We will ride out into the mountains together riding along an ancient olive tree trail. We will stop on the way at a traditional Spanish restaurant for refreshing drinks & tasty tapas.

Day 6 – Walk to the riding centre in the morning for a 3 hour session which includes feeding, preparing and tacking up your ponies. We will complete some stable jobs and take a pony care class. Children will have a horse riding lesson with gymkhana games. Parents are encouraged to get involved either on the ground leading their children or on a horse.

Day 7 – Walk to the riding centre for a 3 hour session. Children will feed, prepare and tack up their ponies. Today you will take a pony walk to the river for a paddle with your ponies on your last day together.

Day 8 – Enjoy breakfast before you travel home (transfers available).
