Sample Itinerary 1: Riding lesson/Trek mix

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation in the morning. In the afternoon you will take a 1 hour riding lesson/Assessment lesson.

 Day 2 – In the morning you will have a 1 hour riding lesson. Return to your accommodation for a long lunch. In the afternoon you can enjoy a 1 hour trek to discover the local area where you will be based over the week.

Day 3 – In the morning you will go on a 2 hour trek with plenty of opportunities to canter to a Mountain View point with stunning 360 degree views (experienced riders). In the afternoon you will return to the riding centre for a 1 hour riding lesson.

Day 4 – Enjoy breakfast by the pool and a relaxing morning. In the afternoon you will ride out on a more challenging half day trek in the mountains.

Day 5 – You will go on a 2.5 hr Tapas Trail. We will ride along the river stopping for drinks & traditional tapas en route.

Day 6 – You will have a riding lesson in the arena (1 hour) in the morning. Afterwards return to your accommodation for lunch and a swim. Later in the afternoon return to the riding centre for another riding lesson in the arena.

Day 7 – Day Trek. Enjoy a full day riding in the mountains with a picnic lunch on your final day (approx 6 hours)

Day 8 – In the morning leave your accommodation to travel back to the airport (transfers available).

Sample Itinerary 2: Novice Trekker

Day 1- Arrive at your accommodation in the morning. Relax by the pool or take a stroll to explore the local area. After lunch you will take a 1 hour introduction to trekking lesson where we will cover the basics and prepare you for trekking. This will take place partly in the arena and partly out in a quiet park close to the riding centre. The session is intended to build confidence in the rider and improve control.

Day 2 – After breakfast you will go on a 1 hour trek out in the mountains and introduce you to the area where you will be based.

 Day 3 – In the morning take a pleasant morning stroll to the riding centre (5 min walk) where your trek guide will be waiting for you to take you on a 2 hour trek up to a mountain view point with stunning panoramic views.  

Day 4 – We will take you out on a 3.5 hour restaurant ride where we will ride from the centre following a trail along the river before stopping at a traditional mountain restaurant for a three course home cooked lunch & drinks.

Day 5 – Today you will take a more challenging 4 hour half day trek in to the mountains to a secluded reservoir.

Day 6 – Spend a relaxing morning at your accommodation. In the afternoon return to the riding centre for a relaxing 3 hour trek along the river and through the valley.

Day 7 – Enjoy a full day of trekking in the mountains with a picnic lunch (6 hours)

Day 8 – Leave your accommodation to travel back to the airport (transfers available on request).

Sample Itinerary 3: Mountain Explorer

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation in the morning. Enjoy the pool & guest facilities. In the afternoon you will ride out on a 1 hour trek to see the local area.

Day 2 – After breakfast you will take a 2 hour trek through ancient olive groves & along the river.

 Day 3 – Your guide will take you on a more challenging 4 hour half day ride in the mountains.

Day 4 – Enjoy a 3 hour trek to a mountain view point with stunning panoramic views over the Alpujarras.

Day 5 – Full day trekking in the mountains with a stop for a picnic lunch (6 hours)

Day 7 – Today you will go on a 4 hour trek along the river passing through traditional Alpujarran agricultural villages. Alternatively, enjoy a 3.5 hour Tapas trail on your last day stopping at a Spanish bar for drinks & tapas.

Day 8 – Enjoy breakfast by the pool before you travel home (transfers available)

Sample itinerary 4 – All Round Rider

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation & settle in. In the afternoonyou will be introduced to your horse and will take a riding assessment lesson/riding lesson. Afterwards we will make a plan and talk more about your riding goals and how we can help get you closer to achieving them during your stay.

 Day 2 – Take a riding lesson (1 hour). Return to your accommodation. In the afternoon you will go on a 1 hour trek to explore the local area.

Day 3 – Enjoy breakfast by the pool. Afterwards you will take your morning riding lesson. Afterwards, return to your accommodation for lunch. Return later in the afternoon for another 1 hour lesson in the arena.

Day 4 – Today you will go on a full day trek. We will stop for a picnic lunch in the mountains (6 hours). We have a range of trek routes to suit all abilities.

Day 5- In the morning you will have a 1 hour riding lesson. In the afternoon return for another riding lesson.

Day 6 – Today you will go on a 4 hour half day trek. Relax in the afternoon by the pool & enjoy a leisurely lunch.

 Day 7 – In the morning walk/drive to the riding centre for a 1 hr riding lesson. Return to your apartment for lunch. In the afternoon return for another riding lesson.

Day 8 – In the morning you will take your final riding lesson. Your riding instructor will evaluate your progress and suggest a plan to continue your progression on your return home.

Sample itinerary 5 – Family (own a pony week)

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation in the morning and settle in. Enjoy a morning swimming in the pool or venture out into the local town. Take a family walk to the riding centre after lunch to meet our horses & ponies. Everyone in the family will be given a pony/horse to take care of as their own for the week. You will spend a little time getting to know your horses. You will do some grooming and we will go over some of the safety issues involved when handling horses/ponies. There will be a pony care class and a non ridden session with fun, learning & a focus on connection (2 hours)

 Day 2 – Family riding session in the morning (3 hours). You will learn how to care for your ponies. You will bring them in from the paddock, feed and groom your ponies. You will learn about the grooming kit and how to use it. Children will take a fun quiz & learn how to tack up their horses. There will be a pony care lesson. The session will finish with some riding in the arena with games. After your morning family session you can return to your accommodation to enjoy the pool and facilities.

Day 4 – Enjoy a family walk to the riding centre. Your guide will meet you and after completing routine stable chores, feeding and preparing your ponies you will take a pony care lesson. This will be followed by a family riding session in the arena and a mini trek out in the forest park next door to the riding centre (total session 3 hours).

Day 3 – Enjoy a 3 hour family session to include feeding, preparing your ponies and tacking up. We will do some stable jobs and take a horse care class. Afterwards you will take a family riding session in the arena. Parents are encouraged to get involved and team up with their children.

 Day 5 – Enjoy breakfast by the pool and a relaxing morning. In the afternoon you will go on a lunch ride. We will ride out into the mountains together stopping on the way at a traditional Spanish restaurant for a three course lunch (3.5 hours)

Day 6 – Enjoy a 3 hour session to include feeding, preparing and tacking up your ponies. We will complete some stable jobs, take a pony care class and have a family riding session in the arena. Parents are encouraged to get involved and team up with their children.

Day 7 – Enjoy for a 3 hour session to include preparing and tacking up your ponies. Today you will ride your ponies to the river for a paddle on your last day.

Day 8 – Enjoy breakfast by the pool before you travel home (transfers available).
