Sample Itinerary 1: Riding lesson/Trek mix

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation & settle in. In the afternoon arrive at the riding centre for an assessment/riding lesson.

Day 2 – Arrive at the riding centre in the morning for a 1 hour riding lesson. In the afternoon you are free to do as you choose. Maybe explore the local area or take a local bus to the beach or Granada.

Day 3 –Take a walk/shuttle to the riding centre for a riding lesson in the morning. Later in the day you will return to the riding centre for a 1 hour trek.

Day 4 – Enjoy a relaxing morning. In the afternoon walk/take a shuttle to the riding centre for a 2 hour trek

Day 5 – Your guide will take you on a 3 hour river ride.

Day 6 – Arrive in the morning for a riding lesson in the arena. Afterwards return to your accommodation. Later in the afternoon you will take another riding lesson at the centre.

Day 7 – Walk to the riding centre in the moring for a 3.5 hour tapas trail. We will up to a mountain view point and along the Gualdalfeo river stopping en route at a local bar for drinks & tapas.

Day 8 – Enjoy breakfast (optional) before leaving your accommodation to travel back to the airport (transfers available).

Sample itinerary 2: Rider (all levels)

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation. After lunch take a walk/shuttle to the riding centre for an assessment lesson or a riding lesson. We will then make a riding plan for your progression throughout your stay and help you get closer to any riding goals you may have.

 Day 2 – Arrive in the morning for a 1 hour riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a long siesta returning later for another riding lesson in the afternoon.

Day 3 – In the morning you will have a riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a long lunch returning later in the afternoon for another riding lesson.

Day 4 –Take a morning riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a siesta returning for another riding lesson later in the afternoon.

Day 5 – In the morning you will take a riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a long lunch returning later on in the day for another riding lesson.

Day 6 – Walk to the riding centre for your morning riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a siesta or explore the town on foot. You will return to the riding centre for another riding lesson later in the day.

Day 7 – Walk to the riding centre for your morning riding lesson in the arena. Return to your accommodation for a long lunch, returning to the riding centre for another riding lesson later on in the day.

Day 8 – In the morning you will take your final riding lesson. Your riding instructor will evaluate your progress and suggest a plan to continue your progression on your return home.

Sample Itinerary 3: Novice Trekker

Day 1- Arrive at your accommodation. In the afternoon take a walk or a shuttle to the riding centre where you will be introduced to your horse and take a 1 hour introduction to trekking lesson where we will cover the basics and prepare you for trekking out. This will take place partly in the arena and partly in a quite park close to the riding centre.

Day 2 – Walk to the riding centre for a 1 hour trek. We will introduce you to the local area where you can view it from between your horses ears!

 Day 3 – In the morning take a pleasant morning stroll to the centre where your trek guide will be waiting for you to take you on a 2 hour trek to a mountain view point with stunning panoramic views of the Alpujarras.

 Day 4 – Today you will go on a 2.5 hour Tapas Trail. We will ride from the centre following a trail along the river before stopping at a traditional Spanish restaurant for drinks & tapas.

Day 5 – Enjoy a more challenging 4 hour half day ride in the mountains. (Various routes available)

Day 6 – Free day. Spend the day as you choose. Explore the historic city of Granada or visit the coast to enjoy the beaches & fresh seafood.

Day 7 – Take a a 3 hour river ride through the valley.

Day 8 – Leave your accommodation (transfers available).

Sample Itinerary 4: Mountain Explorer

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation. Take a day to relax after your journey. Explore the town and enjoy a home cooked lunch and evening meal (full board only)

Day 2 – Arrive at the riding centre. You will be introduced to your horse before going on a 1 hour trek to explore the area.

Day 3 – In the morning enjoy a walk to the riding centre for a 4 hour half day trek.

Day 4 – Your guide will take you on a half day ride in the mountains.

Day 5 – Walk to the riding centre in the morning for a stunning 3 hour river ride passing through a traditional agricultural village.

Day 6 – Free day. Take a day trip to the beach or soak up some culture in the historic city of Granada

Day 7- In the afternoon you will go on a 2 hr trek.

Day 8 – Enjoy breakfast on your last day before leaving your accommodation (transfers available).

Sample itinerary 5 – Family (own a pony)

Day 1 – Arrive at your accommodation and settle in. Enjoy a family walk to the riding centre in the afternoon to meet our horses & ponies. We will go over the weeks activities & program. You will be given a pony/horse to care for as your own for the week. You can meet your pony and feed some treats. After introductions we will take you on a family mini trek in the forest park next to the riding centre (1 hour session)

Day 2 – Family session in the morning (2 hours). Learn about horses & riding. You will learn how to care for your pony. Children will have the opportunity to feed and care for their ponies. You will learn all about grooming. Today’s session will help children develop confidence and control. There will be a practical session on how to handle horses safely with games. After your morning family session return back to your accommodation. Later on in the afternoon you will take a family mini trek on lead reins in the forest park next to the riding centre (30 mins).

Day 3 – Family session in the morning (2 hours). Learn about horses & riding. You will learn how to care for your pony and will have the opportunity to feed and care for her/him. Today we will learn about how to tack up our ponies & about tack (saddles and bridles). After a horse care lesson there will be a family riding session in the arena.

Day 4 – Family riding session in the morning (2 hours). Learn about horses & riding. After feeding, grooming and tacking up your horses we will have a riding session in the arena followed by a unicorn hunt/scavenger hunt in the forest park next door.

Day 5 – Family riding session in the morning (2 hours). Learn about horses & riding. After feeding, grooming and tacking up your horses we will have a family riding session in the arena.

Day 6 – Family riding session in the morning (2 hours). Learn about horses & riding. After feeding, grooming and tacking up your horses we will have a family riding session in the arena with games and competitions.

Day 7 – Enjoy a family walk to the riding centre. Your guide will meet you and together you will set off on horseback along the river and through forests stopping off at traditional Alpujarran restaurant on the way where you can tie your horses up outside and enjoy a refreshing drink & some tasty tapas (2.5 hours)

Day 8 – Leave your accommodation (transfers available).
